Enzo Calabrese
Architect and industrial designer, born in Brindisi in 1961.
He lives and works in Pescara, and is the founder of the architecture and design studio Kei_en.enzocalabresedesignstudio ©, now “K_ENDESIGN enzocalabresestudio ©”.
PhD and Professor of Architectural Composition at the Department of Architecture of the G. D’Annunzio University.
MASTER’S IN INTELLIGENT BUILDING PLANNING in Stuttgart, Germany.
Visiting Researcher at the CCAC in San Francisco and at the Department of Environmental and Landscape Design, University of California, Berkeley, USA.
Visiting Professor at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro – Brazil and at La Salle University in Bogotá – Colombia.
Winner of the "XXIII Compasso d'Oro" Award
He was Councilor for Urban Planning and Land Protection.
In 2015, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs appointed him “Ambassador of the Image of Italian Design in Latin America.”
“Honourable Design Member and Consultant” of Mingdiao Dandy Design Institution in Shenzhen China, to promote the academic exchange between China and overseas in the field of design.
In 2019, the Presidency of the Italian Republic deemed him worthy of inclusion in the Permanent Artistic Collection of the Quirinale Palace with his creation “Sampei” (designed by Enzo Calabrese and Davide Groppi).
In 2019, “Sampei” (designed by Enzo Calabrese and Davide Groppi) was selected as “an expression of a new idea of beauty and a new aesthetic” at the Porto Design Biennial.
The Sampei lamp is at the Palácio das Artes – Fundação da Juventude, Porto, listed among the Icons of Italian Design.
